Rejecting Abortion

America will not reject abortion until America sees abortion.

This is something that Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life has been saying for years.  He's the man who advocates standing outside abortion clinics holding graphic signs depicting what an aborted baby looks like.  His approach is controversial even among staunch pro-lifers.  But, in the wake of the Gosnel trial and conviction, I believe that he is right.

We live in a culture that promotes freedom of choice above all else.  Most people who will engage in a conversation with me say that they would never have an abortion themselves, but they don't want to impose their beliefs onto anyone else.  The rare cases of rape and incest always become the highly emotional example for not forcing a woman to bring an unintended, unwanted pregnancy to term. All the focus and energy is placed upon the woman while her developing baby is dehumanized and regarded as disposable. For me, it boils down to one question...is this "aborted material" a baby, or not? If the answer is yes, then abortion is wrong not just for you, but for everyone.

What is emerging across the country is shocking.  The abortion industry's dirty little secret is out.  Babies are being born live during "botched" abortions and killed outside the womb.  There is no wiggle room on this one folks, that is by legal definition murder. Lila Rose and Priests for Life have released videos exposing this widespread practice.

These videos are highly disturbing to say the least.  I can hardly stomach watching them, but I do watch them and pass them along for others to view.  Why?  Because I have come to believe exactly what Father Pavone has been saying for years, "America will not reject abortion until America sees abortion."

Please continue to pray for an end to abortion, a change of heart for all those involved in the abortion industry, and healing for those women and men affected by abortion.

God Bless!

The President and Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Cecile Richards and President Barack Obama

Perhaps you heard that President Obama gave a speech at the Planned Parenthood National Conference last week on April 30th.  While it is no secret that the President is an advocate for abortion rights, I was actually surprised at how honest he was about his dedication to "standing with" women in defending their right to choose.  Citizen Link does a pretty good job breaking down his speech, and I recommend watching this 10 minute video.  Here is another article about the President and his relationship with Planned Parenthood along with a little bit of history about the organization.

Of particular interest to me was how he ended his talk.  He asks God to bless Planned Parenthood...what?!?  How and why does he believe that God, who is the creator of all life, would bless the efforts to destroy pre-born babies?  It gives me a headache trying to wrap my brain around that one.

Recall how I recently wrote about the importance of language in this whole abortion discussion?  See if you can find anywhere that the President actually uses the word "abortion" in his speech.  He doesn't!  However, he does use "womens' health care" and "right to choose" very freely.  Let me translate that for you.  It's code for abortion and contraception.

While I'm on the topic of Planned Parenthood, I thougth I'd share this with you too.  The American Life League tried to take out a full page ad in the New York Times and Washington Post to make parents aware of the Sex-Ed materials that Planned Parenthood is using with children as young as 10 years old. The ad was refused because it was "too graphic" and "shocking" for the adults who read those newspapers.  Take a peek at the ad for yourself.  I have to warn you, though, I had to bypass my decency filter on my computer a number of times to actually view the materials.

You need to know that Planned Parenthood has an agenda.  Please do your due diligence and make up your own mind about what that agenda is and whether or not you want your children and family to be a part of it. Set aside some time to read up on the history of Planned Parenthood and its foundress, Margaret Sanger. It may also be worth your while to take a peek into all the companies that support/fund Planned Parenthood and discern whether or not you should continue to purchase goods and services from those companies.  Did you know that the American government gives over $480 million dollars in taxes to Planned Parenthood?  We all pay into that system.  Is that really a prudent use of your tax dollars?

God Bless!

We wouldn't use the word kill...

Those are the words of a worker at an abortion clinic in the Bronx when she was questioned about how a 23 week pregnancy would be ended.  They prefer the word "termination".  I guess there is less emotion attached to that word.  After all, think about things that we all readily terminate - vermin, bugs, cell phone contracts....no emotional attachments there, right?

The abortion issue has been front and center the past few weeks, and I don't think most people know how to deal with it.  The Gosnell trial is sickening to say the least.  But, it is bringing about a dialogue that has been a long time coming.  Even mainstream media has begun to cover this issue.  For the first time in 5 years, I wish that I had cable.  On Friday night, May 3rd,  the FOX News Channel documentary “See No Evil – The Kermit Gosnell Murders”  will air at 9 pm.  Make a real effort to watch this.  Encourage others, especially those on the fence about life issues or those who proudly call themselves pro-choice, to view it as well.

And incase you think that Kermit Gosnell is a lone, isolated, rare case, stop on over to Live Action to see the undercover work that Lila Rose has been up to.  After you view the videos, there is a petition available to sign if you feel moved to do so.  And just incase you've heard negative things about Lila Rose going undercover to obtain this information, consider this.  The "feminst" movement is up in arms because she is deceiving workers at abortion clinics into thinking that the client/pregnant woman is ready to abort/using false pretenses to gain information.  However, if she were using the same methods to uncover sexual harrassment in the workplace or sex-preferrential hiring practices, she would be applauded by the same people.  Just something for you to think about.

Please inform yourself about what is going on out there, and pray, pray, pray.

God Bless!

A Letter to Ponder

I found the following "letter" on Patrick Madrid's blog last night.  Take a moment to read it.  It personalizes the whole abortion scenario into an already born child who is too much of an inconvenience to the family.  It definitely makes one think.

January 22, 2023

Dear Mom:

Can you believe it is already the year 2023? I’m still writing ’22 on everything! It seems like only yesterday that I was sitting in the first grade and celebrating the change to a new century.

I know we really haven’t chatted since Christmas, Mom, and I’m sorry. Anyway, I have some difficult news to share with you and, to be honest, I really didn’t want to call or talk about this face to face.

But before I get to that, let me report that Ted just got a big promotion, and I should be up for a hefty raise this year if I keep putting in all those crazy hours. You know how I work at it. (Yes, we’re still struggling to pay the bills.)

Little Timmy’s been okay at kindergarten, although he complains about going. But then, he wasn’t happy about the day-care center either. So what can we do?
He’s been a real problem, Mom. He’s a good kid, but quite honestly, he’s an unfair burden on us at this time in our lives.Ted and I have talked this through, and we have finally made a choice. Plenty of other families have made the same choice and are really better off today.

Our pastor is supportive of our choice. He pointed out the family is a system, and the demands of one member shouldn’t be allowed to ruin the whole. The pastor told us to be prayerful and to consider all the factors as to what is right to make our family work. He says that even though he probably wouldn’t do it himself, the choice really is ours. He was kind enough to refer us to a children’s clinic near here, so at least that part is easy.

Don’t get me wrong, Mom. I’m not an uncaring mother. I do feel sorry for the little guy. I think he heard Ted and me talking about this the other night. I turned and saw him standing at the bottom of the stairs in his PJ’s with his little teddy bear that you gave him under his arm, and his eyes were sort of welled up with tears.

Mom, the way he looked at me just about broke my heart, but I honestly believe this is better for Timmy, too. It’s just not fair to force him to live in a family that can’t give him the time and attention he deserves.

And please, Mom, don’t give me the kind of grief that grandma gave you over your abortions. It’s the same thing, you know. There’s really no difference.

We’ve told Timmy he’s just going in for a “vaccination.” Anyway, they say the termination procedure is painless. I guess it’s just as well that you haven’t seen that much of little Timmy lately.

Please give my love to Dad.

Your daughter
