Friday Funny

A couple hours ago, I was pushing the mega-cart around the aisle of our local Target.  One of those gigantic carts that allows plenty of room for children and groceries, but is almost impossible to maneuver around any obstacles like your fellow Target patrons.

I didn't take this picture, but found it on google images.
As most of you know, we're about half way through our pregnancy with baby number 7.  The only detail I will add is that I was on the hunt for Preparation H cream for some much needed relief...enough said!

I was dodging people and doing my best not to knock over any displays.  After making one round through the personal care aisles, I came up empty handed.  So, I asked for help.  The helpful employee stared at me blankly and asked me to repeat myself.  After she fully understood what I was seeking, she looked in all the same places I had looked without success.  So, she asked another employee who blasted it over the walkie-talkie.  They didn't know the answer, so she went to the pharmacy to inquire there.  Luckily, the pharmacy technician knew exactly where to look.  "Aisle 8 - next to the fiber supplements, " she replied without even looking up from her work...now that's a valuable employee!

Why do I share all of this?  I was reflecting on how my life has changed over the course of the past ten years.  Ten years ago, I would have spent an hour scouring the shelves looking for this personal item and would have died of embarrassment if anyone actually knew I was looking for hemorroidal cream.  Now, I don't waste my time.  If I can't find what I need, I ask...right away.  Life is too short and time is too valuable to care if people know about my "personal issues".

Funny how children and age change a gal, huh?

God Bless!

Heather :-)

  2. It really is funny when we know it doesn't pay to be modest! :) what would leave a first time mom shocked, finds veteran moms relief.

Had a SERIOUS problem with those (h word) during my first pregnancy. Had to see a specialist in that dept. I found that support hose hold it all up and relieve the serious pressure on those (h word)! no pun here...but hang in there!
