I'm a Hearts at Home Blogger!

I'd like to make sure that you all know about a wonderful organization called Hearts at Home.  Put simply, they are a group who works to professionalize motherhood.  What an amazing, yet basic concept!  In a world where being a mom is just one more title most women add to the list of things they do, Hearts at Home works to promote making motherhood the most important thing that you do.  It doesn't matter what stage of motherhood you're in, they have something for you.  Check out their website for a huge variety of resources.

One of the wonderful things and best resources that they offer is holding a conference in Rochester, MN.  This year the conference is November 12-13.  The registration fee is reasonable ($85) for Friday evening and all day Saturday with a huge variety of speakers, workshops, and vendors.  The motel stay can also be inexpensive if you get a few girlfriends together and share a room.  You could also just go for the Saturday events to avoid hotel costs all together.  Eliminate the cost of parking by staying in a motel within walking distance of the Mayo Civic Center.  Choose a hotel that offers a free breakfast so that you don't have to pay for that meal.  Eat a big breakfast and grab an extra piece of fruit for a mid-morning snack.  You can also pack a cooler with some drinks and sandwiches to eat either for lunch or the drive home.

Being a mom truly is the most important job any of us will ever have.  I know that there are all kinds of conferences for all types of professions.  I hope that you will consider investing some time in yourself and a little "professional development".

God Bless!

Heather :-)
