Happy Birthday Eleanor

On a stormy, wintery night, four years ago today, we raced to the hospital to give birth to our fifth child.  I had my eyes closed for most of the drive.  I heard my husband honking the horn and passing cars...I think he was hoping for a police escort!  We made it to the hospital and Eleanor Ann was born 8 minutes later.  She was delivered by the ER doctor, who did a fine job by the way.  It all is so fresh in my mind.  I really can't believe it was 4 years ago!

Eleanor had a lovely day and truly enjoyed being the center of attention.  We had our home school co-op today so she was even able to be the birthday girl with her "class".  Grandma Pam is visiting which added to the excitement of her special day....grandmas make everything better, you know!

This is her new "big girl" smile...not really sure what prompted it, but there it is!
The favorite gift was from Grandma and Grandpa.  A piggy bank that oinks when you put in coins.  Grandma even remembered to give her oodles of coins!

Eleanor is a very expressive and emotional little girl.  This past week she gained a "roomy" as Esther moved out of our bedroom and into Eleanor's room. They are doing great and sleeping remarkably well together.  It has been fun watching my little El tackle the job of big sister and role model to Essie.  This mom gig I've got going on is tremendously rewarding.  I have a fabulous job with excellent benefits...six of them with another joining us soon!

God Bless!

Heather :-)
