Sorry, I've already bought (fill in the blank) from her. Good luck at the next house." Kids are smart, they'll figure it out!happymomonlinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15879101906819985208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2848291465460616786.post-42119650970630962492010-09-07T20:43:23.494-07:002010-09-07T20:43:23.494-07:00Good for you for taking a stand! The thing that bothers me the most about it is that the little girl is so rude and unfriendly. Her mother is nice, but I feel like telling the daughter that if she's asking people for money, the least she can do is smile and say a few polite words.Clairenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2848291465460616786.post-82255483208558906422010-09-07T17:54:24.446-07:002010-09-07T17:54:24.446-07:00yeah, the knock at the door made me laugh out loud...yeah, the knock at the door made me laugh out loud! I should have specified that we donate to many charities and actually encourage that type of fundraising. I think that fewer folks give to charities because they're tapped out from giving to the cute kid on their doorstep.
Funny comment about your hubby being the Godfather and collecting his favors!
It was nice to hear that I'm not the only one struggling with saying no!
God Bless!
Heather :-)happymomonlinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15879101906819985208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2848291465460616786.post-45203733160377198372010-09-07T14:29:38.833-07:002010-09-07T14:29:38.833-07:00Oh my goodness. Have in the past, but get suckered in with Girl Scout cookies.

This year, I am planning to say no...thanks to "tough times".

With that said, last year, when my kids were trying to raise funds for www.hikeforlifetx.org my husband said it was time to call in all favors. Like he was the Godfather or someone:)

Thanks for the heads up for this year. I always forgot about it until the doorbell rang...too late then. Now I'm all prepared!Pattyhttp://www.reasonsforchocolate.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
